Larry Brant

Larry J. Brant is a Shareholder in Garvey Schubert Barer, a law firm based out of the Pacific Northwest, with offices in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Anchorage, Alaska; New York, New York; Washington DC; and Beijing, China. Brant practices in the Portland office. His practice focuses on tax, tax controversy and transactions. Brant is a past Chair of the Oregon State Bar Taxation Section. He was the long term Chair of the Oregon Tax Institute, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Portland Tax Forum.

Brant has served as an adjunct professor, teaching corporate taxation, at Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College. He is an Expert Contributor of Thomson Reuters Checkpoint Catalyst. Brant is a Fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel. He publishes articles on numerous income tax issues, including Taxation of S Corporations, Reasonable Compensation, Circular 230, Worker Classification, IRC § 1031 Exchanges, and Choice of Entity.  Brant is a frequent lecturer at local, regional and national tax and business conferences for CPAs and attorneys. He was the 2015 Recipient of the Oregon State Bar Tax Section Award of Merit.



Bill Bregar


Bill Bregar is the President of Loss Prevention Systems, Inc. (LPSI) in Atlanta, GA. He has 32 years of experience in Loss Prevention and Security. Prior to starting LPSI in 1998 Bregar was Director of LP for several major companies including The Athletes Foot Group, Inc.

LPSI has six employees who specialize in employee theft investigation and prevention, prevention training, auditing, physical security, policy and procedure development, pre-employment background checks, shoplifting prevention, burglar alarm, CCTV and access control systems design and installation.

LPSI clients include companies that vary in size, from small single location businesses to large multi-store chains. Bregar was a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Retail Association.


Nick Tate

He has also led a variety of training seminars on healthcare reform, consumer-health issues, and media relations for college students, scientists, doctors, business executives, and public relations specialists.
