Dhaheri is currently a Chairperson of the Nutrition and Health Department at
the United Arab Emirates University. Dr. Al Dhaheri is also the Coordinator for
MEFOODS and GULFOODS for FAO-Rome. Dr. Al Dhaheri also served
as the Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre in
Nutrition from 2012-2015, where she worked to promote greater awareness in the
prevention and treatment of nutrition related diseases. Dr. Al Dhaheri has
conducted significant research in nutrition and has experience as a consultant
in major research/projects in her field with national and international
agencies such as MOH, HAAD, WHO, FAO, ICCIDD. As well as, she has been
recognized by the World Health Organization as a Regional Facilitator for the
introduction and dissemination of the WHO growth curves since February 2007.Dr.
Ayesha is currently involved in supervising PhD students in the Nutritional
Sciences PhD Program and Master Degree students from UAE University and other

Dr. Yousef Saeed Alsaadi Food Policies Section Manager Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Abu Dhabi Dr. Yousef Alsaadi is the First Emirati Certified Food Scientist (CFS) and has a Doctorate degree in Food Science from Food Science Institute, Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, United States (USA). He is holding the Food Policies Section Manager at Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He have more than 24 years of experience in food science and food safety. His major research interests are rapid methods and automation in food microbiology and food safety. In addition to new emerging issues and trends in food safety. He is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), the Society for Applied Microbiology (SFAM), the International Food Safety & Quality Network (IFSQN), and the Association for Talent Development (ATD). | |
Arwa Al Modwahi MD, MPH Senior Public Health Officer Health Authority of Abu Dhabi Dr. Arwa Al Modwahi is working for the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi as a Senior Officer in the Chronic Conditions Section at the Public Health Department. Since she joined HAAD in 2008, she managed several projects that have an impact on improving the Public Health of Abu Dhabi Community. Dr. Al Modwahi has an MD degree and earned a Master of Public Health in Nutrition with Honors from UC Berkeley; one of the most prestigious graduate schools in the USA. Dr. Al Modwahi previous working experience varied, as she was a Medical Doctor in Damascus, Syria & Sana’a, Yemen.Researcher for the Bixby program at School of Public Health in UC Berkeley, and the Patient & Family Education Chapter Leader at Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Currently, she is leading the Eat & Act Program for the Non Communicable Diseases Department at HAAD. Her work is presented in several conferences, papers and TV medical shows. | |
Dr. Amer Azaz DCH, MRCP, MRCPCH, FRCPCH, Dip Paed. Nutr, PGDME Consultant, Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) Dr.Amer Azaz attended the Faculty of Medicine of Tripoli University of Libya for
his undergraduate medical training. He obtained his MBChB with honour in 1986
and in 1990 he was awarded DCH from the same university.
After granting his membership with the Royal College of physicians and then that of Paediatrics and child health, Dr Azaz had his higher professional training in paediatric gastroenterology hepatology and nutritionin the university hospitals of Manchester and London upon which he was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in paediatric gastroenterology in 1991. He then worked as a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist in Hull, East Yorkshire for more than 15 years. There he was also appointed as a Senior Lecturer with Hull and York Medical School where he was awarded the medical school Tutor of the year for 2011. Along with teaching, Dr Azaz is also interested in postgraduate medical training for which he was the Training Program Director for the East Yorkshire School of Paediatrics and Co-founder of the Yorkshire School of Paediatrics, Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery for 7 years. Prior to that, he was the local Royal College Representative for 3 years. In the field of peadiatric gastroenterology, Dr Azaz particular interest is in childhood inflammatory bowel disease, constipation and functional gastrointestinal disorders. He has published research papers in this field and has been an invited speaker to major national and international conferences. Currently, Dr Azaz practice as a consultant Paediatric gastroenterologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. | |
Fatme Al-Anouti Assistant Dean of the College of Sustainability Sciences and Humanities Zayed University, UAE Dr. Fatme Al Anouti is a Biochemist and Microbiologist. Her current research looks into the biochemical and genetic basis of Vitamin D Deficiency which is prevalent in the UAE population. Dr. Fatme is collaborating with many research centers at both the international and national. She has recently secured many grants to conduct her studies which focuson Vitamin D Deficiency among Emiratis. She is also interested in the use of molecular tools for the assessment of environmental risk factors and gene-environment interaction. She has numerous publications and presentations at international conferences and is a member of many professional organizations like the American Society for Microbiology and the UAE Genetic Diseases Association. | |
Adrienne Speedy Lead Dietitian Cleveland Clinic Adrienne Speedy has been Lead Dietitian since August 2014 at Cleveland Clinic Dietitian. She is a New Zealand trained dietitian whom has worked in New Zealand, Ireland and most recently in the UAE for more than 6years.
