10:45 amThe Power of Intention
Carole Sacino, Strategic Solutions Business Partner, Turning Point Institute
Intention - what does it mean to have it and how does it empower you? We will explore this by assessing Awareness, Clarity, Attention and Action:

• Awareness and Clarity: we don’t know what we don’t know until we know it – how to gain clarity in the process
• Attention: where to focus your thoughts, feelings and drive
• Action: without it nothing happens…what steps can you take to move forward with your intention?

We will also explore why/how “the words we use matter,” what we say unconsciously and how to bring them more into conscious awareness. It’s the moments that matter…no matter what has just happened we have the power of intention to change the direction and mindset for the moments ahead of us through personal choice.

1:00 pmYour Executive Presence
There are two aspects of executive presence and both need your focused attention. The first aspect is knowing who you are - self-awareness – an objective view of how you are perceived in the workplace and what you can do to improve. The second aspect is knowing what you need to be effective – specific workplace skills/knowledge you must master. In this interactive presentation you will be exposed to and allowed to practice elements of each aspect.

2:00 pmYour Authentic Leadership
Ken Piddington, CIO & Executive Advisor, MRE Consulting
What does it mean to be an authentic leader?
  • Authentic leadership is an approach to leadership that emphasizes building the leader’s legitimacy through honest relationships with followers who value their input and which are built on an ethical foundation. This style of leadership comes from the leader’s personal history, including life-events (trigger events) that direct the flow of leadership formation.
  • How leaders interpret these personal histories are trigger events that will inform their self-identify as leaders and influence their moral development and values, two components in the development of authentic leaders. You will learn about the relationship between the authentic leadership style and other leadership styles and develop a plan of action for enhancing their leadership style.

3:15 pmThe Secrets of Communicating as a Leader
Mary Patry, Former CIO/Executive Coach & Consultant, ITeffectivity

Leadership starts with the leader.  They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring.  Yet, while leaders set the direction, they must also use management skills to guide their people to the right destination, in a smooth and efficient way.  Communication skills are paramount to the effective delivery of that guidance.  In this segment we will discuss what it means to lead yourself, designing your leadership vision, and igniting your action plan to enable you to communicate effectively as a leader incorporating key insights and success strategies learned during the Master class.

  • Leading Yourself
  • Designing your Leadership Vision
  • Building your Communication Stage
  • Becoming a REAL Leader
  • Testing your Leadership Effectiveness
