Jason Bennett

Jason Bennett is a partner and the Deputy Department Head of the Global Projects Group at Baker Botts in Houston. He concentrates on oil, gas, LNG, and liquids projects, and transactions in the energy industry. Jason’s extensive experience in the energy industry includes assisting clients with the structuring, development, construction and launch of greenfield liquefaction projects and related upstream developments, regasification facility projects, LNG shipping matters and the development of LNG trading platforms and investments. He also advises clients with the development and structuring of upstream and midstream investments, joint ventures, production sharing arrangement and acquisitions of interests in LNG, oil and natural gas, pipeline and non­conventional energy projects. Jason holds a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Economics from the University of Texas.

Martin Lythgoe is General Counsel for Duke Energy International (DEI). He leads DEI’s strategic and tactical legal initiatives and oversees the legal support that DEI receives in each of the regions where DEI operates, including the United States. Martin was appointed for his current position in June 2014. Previously, he served as Associate General Counsel, a position that he held since 2010. Before that, Martin worked for top tier firms in the United States and Argentina. Martin is admitted to practice law in New York and Argentina. He graduated as attorney from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and obtained a degree in Master in Business Law from Universidad Austral, Argentina, and in Master of Laws in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Houston, United States.

João Almeida is a partner at the Rio de Janeiro office of Demarest Advogados and his wide-ranging practice includes transactional work in oil and gas, infrastructure, maritime law, M&A and corporate restructuring.
