eCruit Week 3

newCruits

Beginning in May 2012, we hosted our first eCruit program. From that program, two recently hired young ladies got their first introductions to the company and one more was made the first employee hired out of the eCruit program.

In June of the same year, we hosted our second eCruit program and added one more candidate to the etouches' family.

Valerie Marques, Event Services Coordinator

I learned a lot from eCruit and the company itself. I learned that with enough effort and dedication, this economy isn't so bad because of opportunities like this. You really get a feel of each department that most companies have, and how you fit into it. It's a great way to see what interests you and what you wouldn't want to do for any future job, not just etouches. But it also provides a great learning tool to how this company runs and what it takes to make it successful.

I was most interested in the Events Services department at eCruit, because I had experience with events at my last job and I grew to really enjoy it. Luckily, with Leonora's intuition, she placed me into this department. I have learned so much since then, and I am really content with where I ended up. I worked with support for a while and it was a great way to help me get introduced to the software and then I started to dabble into different projects and now I think I am really getting the hang of how everything works.

I haven't had a job in a while where I actually enjoy what I do and the people I work with. I love the atmosphere here at etouches, it makes work so much more pleasant and enjoyable. I think that the entire team really cares about their work and what their role is, which makes it easier to get work done. There definitely is teamwork at etouches and that is why I think this company will gain even more success in the future.

My goal at etouches is to really gain knowledge on everything in the Events Services team along with knowing everything about our software. I would like people to come to me for help instead of the other way around. I would also love to see this company continuously grow and be successful. Personally, I just want to really still enjoy what I do at work years to come and to continue to be happy with everything in my life.

Jake Diserio, Marketing Coordinator

Going into eCruit, I was not too sure what to think. I was both excited and curious to see what the week would bring. Regardless of what the program had in store for us, I felt that it would be a good opportunity to learn something new and to be in a start-up office environment for a week.

My experience during the eCruit program was genuinely positive. I thought I knew a bit about what running a business entailed, but it truly felt like I was taking a week long MBA course, taught by actual professionals at the top of their game. While each person presented in a slightly different style, they were all equally engaging and knowledgeable about their topic and inspired me to keep soaking up everything they had to say.

I can say that I came out of eCruit a much more knowledgeable person about what it takes to run and to be a part of a SaaS (software as a service) startup, as well as a new inspiration to work in an environment like etouches. I realized through seeing actual professionals in their work place, what it takes to successfully keep a company like etouches moving in the right direction, both business and culture wise.

Upon completing my introduction to the company and getting up to speed with the product with the Support Team, I began my career with Sales, only to move to Marketing. While I initially thought that Sales was right for me, I began to realize, along with our CEO’s, Leonora Valvo, intuition that my skillset was best suited for Marketing. Prior to etouches I had done a lot of work in video and multi-media production, something that etouches had not tapped too deeply into up to that point. Once I made the change, I began brainstorming and implementing a number of video campaigns to help promote etouches.

I do not know too many people that wake up each and every day and look forward to heading off to work. I really enjoy the people I work with, company wide, and especially among the team I work with. Additionally, I like the work that I do and think it’s really cool seeing tangible contributions to the company.

While my career is still in its infancy, I hope to learn as much as possible every day I come to work and to contribute to the growth of the company. Whether I’m still here or move on to another company, I know the skills and knowledge I’m gaining now are putting me on a great path to future success.

Viviana Apuril, Client Support Representative

I was hired prior to the beginning of eCruit, so I was really excited when it started. It was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the company and the different departments – especially since we didn’t which department I would transfer to.

Our eCruit session was amazing! There was so much conversation and feedback between the eCruits and the speakers. It felt like they all really cared about what we thought and answered any question we asked. I felt very lucky to be a part of the program and couldn't wait to get my career started at etouches.

Through completing eCruit, I got a better understanding of what etouches was all about. I saw the passion that everyone has, working together to make this company great. It was truly inspiring.

I began my first day in the support like all new hires and was super excited to actually use the etouches system. I really enjoy being a part of the support team because I am learning everything about our product and enjoy having daily contact with our clients.

Right now, life is great at etouches! I learn something new every day and am truly excited to come to work, every day.

Looking towards the future, my goals are to be as knowledgeable as the rest of my team and to keep contributing to the growth of etouches

FUNctional

Chet Schmid, Sales Director

I thought that ecruit would a training seminar of sorts for etouches, yet I was surprised by variety and depth of information that was taught during the sessions.

I felt as if etouches was a weeklong class as to the interworking of the software industry and its various components. The quality and amount of information produced during this week was almost comparable to four years of college.

Ultimately, eCruit provided me with the knowledge and insight into the world of software, which has built my confidence going into the workforce.
I was forayed into sales.

My first day was amazing. Everyone was very nice and always willing to help me in anyway.

I have just completed my second week here at etouches and feel right at home in this working community of friends.

My work is challenging and fun, it’s a real treat to be here. My goal in working at this company is to help etouches be everywhere.
