Jerry Archer

Mr. Archer's responsibilities include securing and protecting all of Sallie Mae’s systems and offerings, and for security initiatives across the company. Prior to Sallie Mae, Archer was the Chief Information Security Officer at Intuit and prior to joining Intuit, Archer was managing director at Global Competitive Strategies, LLC. Previously, Mr. Archer was Senior Vice President for Global Interoperability at Visa International and before Visa, at the Fidelity Brokerage Company; he was senior vice president of information security and technical risk. For his work in the U.S. Intelligence Community earned Mr. Archer the National Performance Review Hammer Award, a Distinguished Service Award from the Central Intelligence Agency and a Meritorious Unit Citation from the National Security Agency.

 
Randy Barr

Qualys

As Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Qualys, Randy is responsible for security, risk management and business continuity planning of the QualysGuard platform used by thousands of organizations worldwide. He will also lead the Qualys CSO Advisory Board efforts to collaborate with customers on forging and implementing security and compliance best practices. Randy has over 13 years of information technology and leadership experience.

Prior to joining Qualys, he was the Information Security Officer at Yodlee responsible for insuring a high-level security posture of Yodlee's Internet based financial services. Before Yodlee, Randy served as CSO for WebEx Communications, a Cisco company; the leading provider of web communication services with over 30,000 customers worldwide. At WebEx, Randy built a security department from the ground up and was responsible for the company's global security infrastructure. Prior to his appointment as CSO, Randy held several management positions within WebEx and leadership positions in the healthcare, gaming and high-tech industries.

Randy is a frequent speaker at security conferences including CSO Perspectives, RSA, BITS Security Forum, The Security Standard and SaaS/Gov. He has also been quoted in numerous articles and was featured on the front cover of SC Magazine. Randy holds a BS in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.

 
Bob Bragdon

He works closely with industry vendors, enterprise security executives, government officials and law enforcement agencies in identifying and addressing the challenges of today's complex security and risk management environments.

A frequent speaker and panel moderator on enterprise and national security issues, Bragdon has presented and keynoted at numerous industry events. Prior to his current role at CSO magazine, he served as Vice President of Event Marketing and Sales for COMDEX at Key3Media Events.

Bragdon has also held various management positions in marketing, sales and product development at SOFTBANK, Ziff-Davis and Cahners Publishing. He is a member of the ASIS International and a graduate of Bowdoin College with a BA in Government and International Relations.

 
Raimund Genes

Raimund Genes brings more than 30 years of computer and network security experience to his position of Chief Technology Officer at Trend Micro. In this role, Mr. Genes is responsible for introducing new methods to detect and eradicate threats. He is responsible for a team of developers and researchers around the globe who research and develop new core technology components to protect against email, Web and file-based threats under the Smart Protection Network umbrella.

Raimund has held several executive management positions within Trend Micro including General Manager for Trend Micro’s Incubation Business, President of European Operations; European Vice President of Sales and Marketing; and Managing Director.

Raimund worked in the German air force for 12 years in radar guidance and aircraft tracking and holds a master of science in radar guidance from the German Air Force Academy. He is also a Certified Network Engineer.

 
Dan Glessner
Vice President Enterprise Marketing
Trend Micro

As global Vice President of Enterprise Marketing for Trend Micro, Mr. Glessner leads Product Marketing, Marketing Campaign, and Sales Enablement initiatives for Trend Micro’s Enterprise business. He is responsible for developing marketing strategies, launching new products, creating marketing campaigns, and collaborating with regional Field Sales and Marketing teams to enable Trend Micro to gain market share within the Enterprise market segment.  Prior to his current position, Mr. Glessner reported to the C.E.O. and led Trend Micro’s Customer Insight program; in addition, he led Marketing within the North American region. He has been with Trend Micro for over 8 years.

Mr. Glessner has over 20 years of experience in high-tech business-to-business marketing and sales. Most of his professional career was with Hewlett-Packard Company in various product marketing and management positions, including a two-year Asia Pacific-wide assignment while living in Japan.

He has also worked for Palm, Inc. and General Electric Company. He holds a M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School and B.S. and B.A. degrees in Engineering and Economics from Swarthmore College. Mr. Glessner resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.

 
Bernard Golden

Bernard Golden has been called a “cloud guru.” He is the CEO of HyperStratus, a Silicon Valley cloud computing consultancy which works with clients in the US and throughout the world. The firm's clients include Sensato Capital, Sun Microsystems, and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation. HyperStratus provides services in the areas of application security, system architecture and design, TCO analysis, and project implementation.

Bernard is the Cloud Computing Advisor for CIO Magazine. His blog has been called “brilliant and incisive” and is read by tens of thousands of people each month. The blog's influence was recognized when it was named a “Top 50 Cloud Computing Blog” by Sys-Con Media. Bernard's writings on cloud computing have also been published by the New York Times and the Harvard Business Review.

Bernard is the author of Virtualization for Dummies, the most popular book on the subject ever published. He is also the co-author of Creating the Infrastructure for Cloud Computing (Intel Press, 2010). Bernard is a popular and engaging presenter, and has keynoted conferences from Moscow to Peru.

 
David Hunter
Chief Technology Officer for Public Sector

David Hunter is VMware’s Chief Technology Officer for Public Sector. He functions as the senior technical liaison between VMware and the public sector community, evangelizing virtualization’s value to improving the business of government and education. David also leads VMware’s Product Security Engineering Initiative overseeing various internal initiatives focused on secure development practices. He has over 25 years of industry experience having held senior engineering leadership and management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation. David is the co-inventor on several U.S. Patents and served three years as a member of the Secretary of the Navy’s Reserve Force Policy Board. He holds a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, and is a graduate of both the U.S. Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff Officer College. He is a current member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the College of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Northeastern University as well as a member of National University’s Cyber Security and Information Assurance Advisory Council.
 
Arun K. Sood
Co-Director of the International Cyber Center, Professor of Computer Science
George Mason University

Dr. Arun Sood is Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science, and Co-Director of the International Cyber Center at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. His research interests are in security architectures; image and multimedia computing; performance modeling and evaluation; simulation, modeling, and optimization.  Since 2009 Dr. Sood has directed an annual workshop on Cyber Security and Global Affairs with Office of Naval Research support.

He and his team of faculty and students have developed a new approach to server security, called Self Cleansing Intrusion Tolerance (SCIT). We convert static servers into dynamic servers and reduce the exposure of the servers, while maintaining uninterrupted service. This research has been supported by US Army, NIST through the Critical Infrastructure Program, SUN, Lockheed Martin, Commonwealth of Virgina CTRF (in partnership with Northrop Grumman). Recently SCIT technology was winner of the Global Security Challenge (GSC) sponsored Securities Technologies for Tomorrow Challenge. GSC is associated with London Business School.

Dr. Sood has held academic positions at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and IIT, Delhi. His has been supported by the Office of Naval Research, NIMA (now NGA), National Science Foundation, U.S. Army Belvoir RD&E Center, U. S. Army TACOM, U.S. Department of Transportation, and private industry.

He was awarded grants by NATO to organize and direct advance study institutes in relational database machine architecture and active perception and robot vision.

Dr. Sood received the B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, in 1966, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1967 and 1971, respectively. Tom Miller

As executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, Tom Miller is in charge of Sales for Trend Micro’s US business unit including Consumer, Retail, Online, Channel, SMB and Enterprise products and services. He is also responsible for driving product marketing strategy for Trend Micro Enterprise and Medium products and services. As the former executive vice president and general manager for the mid-market and enterprise business units at Trend Micro, Tom was responsible for driving strategy, business profitability, global operations, and solutions designed specifically to meet the needs of medium and large organizations.

Previously, Tom was the vice president of Trend Micro’s North American Sales organization and spearheaded eight consecutive quarters of growth and record performance. Tom has also held positions in sales and sales management at ActivCard, Infonet, and MCI, and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and business law from Syracuse University with international study at the Syracuse London Center.

 
Nils Puhlmann

Nils Puhlmann is the co-founder of CSA (Cloud Security Alliance) and CSO of Zynga Game Network, the number one social gaming company on the web.  Prior to Zynga, Nils held CSO positions at Qualys and Electronic Arts. Nils was also previously the CISO at Robert Half International, and Director Global IT & Security and Chief Privacy Officer at Mindjet Corp.

Nils recently was a guest speaker at The George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute, sponsored by Cisco, and he regularly participates in global conferences on Cloud Security.

 
Steve Quane

Chief Product Officer, Steve Quane is responsible for the business profitability, global operations and strategy of Trend Micro’s Enterprise Business Unit. Prior to his role as CPO, Quane was the executive general manager of the Data Center business unit.

Steve has been with Trend Micro since 2001, and was pivotal to the introduction of Trend Micro’s breakthrough Enterprise Protection Strategy which changed the security marketplace. Prior to joining Trend Micro, Quane held product management and business development roles at Intel Corporation.

Quane holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Michael R. Overly is a partner in the Information Technology and Outsourcing Group in the Los Angeles office of Foley & Lardner LLP. As an attorney and former electrical engineer, his practice focuses on counseling clients regarding technology licensing, intellectual property development, information security, and electronic commerce.

Mr. Overly is one of the few practicing lawyers who has satisfied the rigorous requirements necessary to obtain the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) , Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP), and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certifications. He has just passed the examination to become a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA). He is a member of the Computer Security Institute and the Information Systems Security Association.

Mr. Overly writes and speaks frequently regarding negotiating and drafting technology transactions and the legal issues of technology in the workplace, e-mail, and electronic evidence. He has written numerous articles and books on these subjects and is a frequent commentator in the national press (e.g., the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, ABCNEWS.com, CNN, and MSNBC). In addition to conducting training seminars in the United States, Norway, Japan, and Malaysia, Mr. Overly has testified before the U.S. Congress regarding online issues.
