Investing in Lekki Free Zone

The Lekki Free Zone Project covers a land mass of about 16,500 hectares in the Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos State bordered by the Atlantic Ocean in the South and the Lekki Lagoon in the North. The project is phased into four quadrants namely; the Southwest Quadrant (Phase1), the Northwest Quadrant (Phase2), the Southeast Quadrant (Phase3) and the Northeast Quadrant which is the last Phase of the entire project.

The Southwest Quadrant which covers an area of about 3000 hectares is being jointly developed by a joint venture partnership between the Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited (a Special Purpose Vehicle) representing Lagos State Government in the joint venture and a consortium of Chinese investors referred to as China Africa Investment Limited (CALIL)

The joint venture company which is the Lekki Free Zone Development Company has been granted the concession to develop, manage and operate the Southwest Quadrant for 50 years.

In attracting viable investments into the Phase 1 development, the Federal Government through the Nigeria Export Processing Zones granted a list of incentives for enterprises operating in Nigerian Free Zones with purpose of creating an enabling environment for investment to thrive without bureaucratic processes with government agencies. The incentives also include creating a -one -stop service center with representatives of Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and the representative of NEPZA to fast track approval and permits needed for enterprises to operate in the zone.
