Victoria Andrews Donor Development Manager MS Queensland Victoria is a passionate fundraising specialist with experience in strategy development, marketing and communications, stakeholder engagement, transformational events and project management. For more than 8 years, Victoria has dedicated herself to serving the profit for purpose sector to make a positive impact in the community. During her time she led various initiatives focused on peer to peer fundraising, community fundraising, direct marketing, regular giving, special events, supporter care and corporate partnerships. She is proud to consider herself a generalist fundraiser, and is well regarded for her strategic focus, creative mindset, high level thinking and ability to lead teams through significant organisational change. Victoria’s career has spanned the tourism, disability, medical research and health sectors. She is particularly passionate about addressing health issues, mental health, gender equality, women and children’s rights. | |
Ben Cox Chair Variety QLD Ben has dedicated his career to changing the lives of others through his work in the not-for-profit sector. He has extensive experience in fundraising working with the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Cerebral Palsy League, MS Queensland and Legacy. Ben is a passionate advocate for the not for profit sector and is an experienced speaker and thinker on the design, delivery and value of effective fundraising, marketing and communications programs. He also speaks regularly on mentoring, leadership and perseverance. Ben currently serves as Chair of Variety QLD, as a Director of Variety Australia, a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s (FIA) Queensland State Committee and a member of the inaugural FIA Code Authority. He has also served as a National Director of FIA and sits on several fundraising and marketing advisory panels in the not-for-profit sector. | |
Rowan Foster Head of Fundraising Endeavour Foundation Rowan has worked with private, public and non-profit organisations here in Australia and overseas for over 20 years. His early stage marketing career was left behind for the world of fundraising and philanthropy after losing a good friend, Adam Smiddy, to cancer in 2006. His role in the start-up of Smiling for Smiddy, a series of cycling and triathlon events, has seen more than $10 million raised for cancer research at Mater. Rowan has extensive experience developing sponsorship and partnering activities having guided acquisition, management and renewals with leading brands. Since leading the stakeholder engagement function for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Rowan has returned to the fundraising sector inspired by Endeavour Foundation’s mission to make possibilities a reality for people with disability. | |
Claire Hughes Community Fundraising Manager Legacy Brisbane With over 7 years’ experience working in the NFP sector in both the UK and Australia, Claire specialises in peer to peer campaigns, signature events, community partnerships and relationship fundraising. Through her work, Claire is committed and passionate about using her expertise to drive income generation, supporting her chosen causes in achieving their mission. In her current role at Legacy Brisbane, Claire established and implemented a strategic community fundraising portfolio in order to increase sustainable revenue through campaigns, programs and events, as well as identifying new partnership opportunities. This new direction has resulted in growth and diversification in Legacy’s supporter network and brought the organisation to a new phase of contemporary fundraising, attracting younger supporters and raising vital funds for the charity. In addition, Claire helped to foster a balanced culture of fundraising at Legacy, which previously had a service delivery focus. | |
Mary Macuga CFRE Director of Resource Development Archdiocese of Brisbane Mary Macuga, CFRE serves as the Director of Resource Development for the Archdiocese of Brisbane, overseeing the Catholic Foundation, Archdiocesan Communications and the Marketing and Engagement teams. She moved to Brisbane from the United States in April 2014. Previously, Mary has served as the Director of Development for the Catholic Community Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona as well as serving as a consultant for Petrus Development, working with faith-based organisations throughout the United States. Mary’s twenty years of experience in non profit fundraising and communications includes expertise in annual funds, major gifts, bequest promotion, capital campaigns and endowment building. | |
Bill Maddock Grants and Major Gifts Manager Royal Flying Doctor Service QLD Bill has 18 years fundraising experience having worked across Major Gifts, Gifts in Wills and Trusts and Foundations at Brisbane Grammar School, Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Mater Foundation and QUT. He is now the Grants and Major Gifts Manager at RFDS QLD. He has a passion for creating and stewarding philanthropic partnerships that lead to transformational impact for beneficiaries. | |
Bruce Nean Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist Childhood Cancer Support Bruce has worked in the non-profit space for over 15 years with recent roles in digital fundraising at MS Queensland, the PA Research Foundation and his current role at Childhood Cancer Support. In 2018 he launched a community called Digital for Good, bringing people together from different charities and creative and marketing industries to learn from each other and collaborate. | |
