The very popular Hands-On Lab Program will return to SNW Fall 2012. This education and training opportunity is now in its 8th year and open to all IT Professionals attending the conference.

Within each lab, multiple vendors combine under a technology “theme” and develop exercises that showcase their product’s features and how it solves technology problems.  Attendees then go “hands-on” with these real-world exercises in an in-depth, two hour setting.  Vendor participants deliver one-on-one education and training in a collaborative setting.

Here is just a sample of the attendee comments from recent HOL activity:

“Just having access to the equipment and being able to play / learn on it with a expert close by is fantastic,” SAN Engineer, manufacturing company in the Unified Storage-IP Solutions Lab

“I loved the fact that the instructors spent one on one time with me,” Storage Architect, retail company in the Solid State in the Enterprise Lab

“I found it useful to get hands-on with systems I don't usually see,” Senior Designer, international manufacturing company in the Advanced Data Protection and Reduction Lab

“Gained an overall understanding of the process as we are planning on moving in this direction,” Network Administrator, state government, in the Storage Implications for Server Virtualization Lab

For Fall 2012, the Hands On Labs will feature eight technology labs focused on the following topics:

  • Architecting and Implementing a Fibre Channel SAN
  • Proven Methods to Change Your Cost Model for Big Data Storage
  • Solid State Storage in the Enterprise
  • Storage Implications for Server Virtualization
