Michele Donahue
Executive Director of the Paper Supply Chain
Conde Nast

 

Donahue began her career in the publishing industry in 2002.  In 2004, Michele was made Conde Nast “Corporate Person of the Year” for her work developing a comprehensive, ERP based paper purchasing and inventory system for Conde Nast, while at the same time managing through a European paper strike and a large-scale corporate printer realignment.

 

Beginning her career in the paper industry in 1976, Michele worked for International Paper in various sales and product management positions.  Over the course of sixteen years, Michele worked in the Fine Paper Group and the Liquid Packaging, Folding Carton & Label, and Multiwall Bag Divisions.  Michele came to Conde Nast as a Sales Vice President at Strategic Paper Group.  Working for Alling & Cory, Websource and then Strategic Paper Group, she spent ten years as a commission-based paper merchant.  In each of these positions, Michele has been involved with shipping, receiving and warehousing products at locations throughout North America.  Michele holds a degree in Marketing and an MBA in Finance from NYU.  She and her partner, Dr. Bob Atkyns, live in Frenchtown, NJ.

Colin Barrett
Consultant, Author and Educator

 

Since 1979, Barrett has been president of the consulting firm he founded, Barrett Transportation Consultants. He got his start in the transportation industry in 1964 as associate editor of Traffic World magazine, and subsequently held positions as editor in chief of Transportation & Distribution Management magazine; chief of the representation and economics branch of the U.S. General Services Administration's Office of Transportation; and vice president—governmental affairs of the Transportation Association of America.

 

The recipient of many distinguished industry wards, Barrett was admitted to practice before the former Interstate Commerce Commission after finishing first in a national competitive examination for that privilege, and now practices before the Surface Transportation Board and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He has represented numerous clients in regulatory and legal matters, has served as a litigator consultant and expert witness in court proceedings, and has provided management consulting services for many members of the Fortune 500 as well as numerous smaller firms. In addition, his firm provides rate and contract negotiation services, and handles regulatory applications and pleadings for a wide range of clients including both transportation shippers and carriers of all modes. For 40 years has written the renowned “Questions & Answers” column in Traffic World and Distribution magazines, now in the Journal of Commerce.
