Alan L. Epstein, MD, is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, as well as an attending physician and chief of rheumatology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Epstein has a private practice in clinical rheumatology in Philadelphia too.
Dr. Epstein received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in CT and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in MA. He completed his internship, medical residency, and chief medical residency at Montefiore Medical Center in NY. Dr. Epstein completed his rheumatology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY. He is a past president of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Additionally, he received the 2010 Joseph Hollander Award from the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation for excellence in rheumatology. Dr. Epstein’s research interests have included drug-induced lupus, systemic lupus erythematosus, and osteoporosis. He lectures widely in various areas of rheumatology, including immunology, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, osteoporosis, biosimilars, and anti-inflammatory therapy.

As a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, his expertise lies in Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Dr. Erkan, who holds an MD from Hacettepe University and an MPH from Johns Hopkins University, has made significant contributions to rheumatology with over 200 publications, numerous book chapters, and a role as co-editor of key textbooks. He is recognized for his exceptional work in APS, particularly in clinical trials and classification criteria, and for developing medical multimedia tools for physician and patient education.

Dr. Philip Seo is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Vasculitis Center, the Director of the Johns Hopkins Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He has been a member of the ACR's Committee on Training and Workforce and Annual Meeting Planning Committee, and was a Co-Chair of both the ACR's In-Training Examination Taskforce and the Annual Meeting Review Course. Currently, he is a voting member of the ACR's Vasculitis Guidelines Committee and a Co-Chair of the Non-ANCA Vasculitis Abstract Selection Committee for the ACR's Annual Meeting. He is the Medical Editor of The Rheumatologist and an Associate Editor of Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism. He also serves on the ABIM Specialty Board in Rheumatology, and the Vasculitis Foundation's Advisory Board.

Ruth Ann Vleugels, MD, MPH, MBA is the Heidi and Scott C. Schuster Distinguished Chair in Dermatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she serves as Vice Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Dermatology. She is also the Director of the Atopic Dermatitis Program, Autoimmune Skin Diseases Program, and Connective Tissue Disease Clinics, as well as the Program Director of the Dermatology-Rheumatology Fellowship Program and the Associate Director of Education. Dr. Vleugels specializes in dermatology with clinical interests in various skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, cutaneous lupus, scleroderma, and vasculitis. She completed her internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital and obtained her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
