City of Life Sciences & Chemistry

The Health Valley network comprises internationally renowned science-centred pharma companies such as Synthon and MSD; Nijmegen alone hosts 61 Health Valley partner companies. The Radboud University (Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Institute for Molecules and Materials) is at #122 of THE World University rankings with over 19,000 students. It has excellent analytical technology for both Life Sciences with the Radboud University Medical Centre, and world-class facilities for fundamental analytical chemistry at the faculty of Science (e.g. the Free Electron Laser at FELIX). Together with the HAN University of Applied Sciences, all gathered at the Radboud Campus, this forms a hub for innovation, business and education in chemistry, materials & life sciences. Aside from Life Sciences, Radboud University has strong ties with the large process industrial companies in the region, e.g. AKZO Nobel, Teijin Aramid and FrieslandCampina.
