 PLANNING FOR THIS VIRTUAL EVENT

This virtual program is comprised of 8 modules focused on major giving. The entire program is offered within a 13-week window so that all participants are given the opportunity to progress at their own pace and take breaks as needed. It is uniquely designed to ensure that the material is absorbed thoroughly and retained, by limiting your completion to no more than one module per week.

All modules are designed to require approximately 3-5 hours to complete. This time is recommended for readings, podcasts, webinars and application assignments. In addition to the required material, you'll have the opportunity to participate in a series of live Zoom calls with your class and facilitator, giving you the opportunity to connect with your peers in the Network who are moving through the material and living many of the same experiences at their local United Ways. The Zoom series' schedule is determined by availability of the class. Though recommended, they are not mandatory and are recorded so you may go back and listen at any time.

 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Securing support and resources from your CEO
  • Recruiting your volunteer Tocqueville champion and cabinet
  • Setting goals and tracking progress
  • Stewarding and engaging your donors and key volunteers
  • Each module also includes scholarly articles and white pages that amplify your knowledge, serving as resources you can draw upon long after the conclusion of this course. You will also create a customized integration plan that you can retain and implement at work, have access to one-on-one donor assessments and consultation, and opt-in for Veritus Group's Donor Attrition Analysis.

By attending Major Gift Academy and Tocqueville Training, you may be eligible to receive 36 points from the Certified Fund Raising Executive International (CFRE) (subject to approval and change by CFRE).

 WHAT OUR ATTENDEES SAY

“An excellent course! Highly practical. You get out of it what you put into it. Grateful!”

“I'm an experienced MGO, but I still learned new ways to approach donor qualification, cultivation and solicitation.”

"The course and curriculum delivered content well beyond what they promised. They truly blend the art of staying donor-centric and science of major gift metrics. I like how we come out of this course with a comprehensive plan and clear actions that I can implement immediately. I have also shared the materials with my team and it provides them with additional ideas and approaches that lead to new ways of managing their portfolios while providing exemplary donor care. The course is very hands-on. I know I will be referring back to what I learned for a long while to come. "

"At first I was concerned about the webinar-based approach vs in person, but I was pleased that this course turned out differently than expected! The Major Gift Academy really helped to bring focus and discipline to my approach in development. I especially liked the tiering approach for managing my caseload. This allows us to focus the majority of our time on those donors that are fully qualified and want a relationship. Already, I've seen the Veritus method working well as I intentionally and strategically cultivate my donors. Overall, this was a fantastic professional development opportunity and I'd highly recommend it."
