Social program in Amsterdam

Transport will be ready especially for you at 14.00 hours to take you out for an amazing afternoon! You will leave Egmond aan Zee towards the beautiful Amsterdam, for an incredible   Amsterdam experience!

You will start with an interesting and also very educational tour in The National Maritime Museum. At the dock of the museum is a replica of the VOCship named 'Amsterdam' that perished on its first voyage in 1749. This ship is one of the showpieces of the museum. Included in the tour is also a visit of the ship under the guidance of a tour guide.

After the tour there are beautiful authentic saloon boats waiting for you to take you on a relaxing cruise through the canals of Amsterdam. During this canal cruise you will be well looked after as you can enjoy various drinks and typical Dutch delicacies. 

After the amazing boatride through the canals, the choice is entirely yours. At 18.00 hours there will be transport ready to take you back to Egmond, but there is also the possibility to have a dinner and stay in the city longer to enjoy a free evening and take the transport back later that evening to Egmond aan Zee.

Must see in Amsterdam

Albert Cuyp Market 
While names like Rembrandt and van Gogh may be very popular outside of the Netherlands, lots of tourists still struggle to mention the field where Albert Cuyp shone like the brightest morning star. Albert Cuyp is known for his many colorful Dutch landscape paintings in the Dutch Golden Age. His landscapes bathed in a sunny, Mediterranean light, were the works of a master painter and genius.
Albert Cuyp died in 1691 and was buried in the Augustijnenkerk in Dordrecht, the same city where he was born. The Albert Cuyp market is named after him and is known to have started as a market with special collections of street windows and handcarts. Read more
 

Dam Square 
Dam Square is considered to be the heart of Amsterdam. The town square of Amsterdam estimates 100 by 200 metres. It owes its name from the dam it was build upon. The dam dates back from 1275, at a time when Amsterdam was still at sea and was a harbour city. Boats would be able to moor  near Dam Square and there used to be a fish market. Later it became the official city centre and city hall was build there. The original city hall burned down in 1652 after which it was replaced by the building known today as The Royal Palace. It is surrounded by De Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) from 1408, the Bijenkorf shopping mall, Madame Tussauds, Hotel Krasnapolsky and several other shops and restaurants. Leidseplein Square
Leidseplein is one of the most famous and busiest squares of Amsterdam for nightlife, entertainment, shopping and central location for public transport. It is located at the southern end of Amsterdam’s central canal ring, only a few footsteps away from the main entrance of the amazing Vondelpark. This is one of Amsterdams best parks. In addition, the Leidseplein faces one of the busiest streets of Amsterdam, the Leidsestraat. The translation that fits the best for Leidseplein would be Leiden Square. Concertgebouw

Opened on the 11th of April 1888, Amsterdam’s famous Royal Concertgebouw still remains one of the finest concert halls in the world and can be mentioned in the same breath as Boston’s Symphony Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna. On 11 April 2013, on the building’s 125th anniversary, Queen Beatrix (now Princess Beatrix) bestowed the Royal Title “Koninklijk” on the famous building. “Concertgebouw” is a Dutch term that can be literally translated as “concert building.”  Read more
