National Nursing Leadership Conference

Conference Purpose Statement

The annual Kaiser Permanente National Nursing Leadership Conference provides an opportunity for nurse leaders across the program to come together to network, share best practices, and learn from national leaders in healthcare. The 2019 conference theme is “Culture of Nursing Excellence: Celebrating our Legacy. Creating our Future.” Grounded in the strong legacy of Kaiser Permanente Nursing; the event is designed to provide strategies to prepare nurse leaders to meet the challenges of the future. During two full days of informative and thought-provoking sessions, expert leaders will share perspectives on the future of healthcare and discuss the skills required to lead the nursing workforce in meeting the healthcare needs of patients, families, and communities. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose targeted breakout sessions designed specifically to assist in the acquisition of skills to further professional development. Proven strategies for successful implementation of evidenced-based practices will be showcased in the poster hall. Participants will leave with enhanced leadership skills to engage nurses in professional practice and ensure the delivery of “Extraordinary Nursing Care. Every Patient. Every Time.”

Conference Objectives:

Conference participants will be provided information and skills to:

  • provide transformational nursing leadership in the rapidly changing environment in which healthcare is delivered
  • promote healthy work environments using proven techniques to eliminate toxicity and incivility
  • implement evidenced-based care to meet the needs of patients and families and ensure excellence in nursing care delivery
