GTEN 2019 Symposium Suggestions

OUR ORGANIZATION

In 2018 the Industrial Application of Gas Turbines Committee changed the name of the organization to Gas Turbines for Energy Network. The name change is intended to serve three primary purposes. The first is to ensure the many uses of gas turbines to produce energy are encompassed by the organization’s title. The second is to ensure the title reflects a vision of increased awareness about the role that gas turbine systems play in production of clean energy for mechanical drive, heat and electricity. The third is to ensure the title reflects the organization’s function as a network of industry members who can provide expertise to other organizations and individuals in matters pertaining to gas turbine systems.

OUR MISSION

The Gas Turbines for Energy Network (GTEN) was originally formed in 1973 as the Industrial Application of Gas Turbines (IAGT) Committee under the sponsorship of the National Research Council of Canada. GTEN is a Technical Advisory Group to Canadian industry and government. The group provides a forum for the exchange and dissemination of ideas and the communication of new developments related to gas turbine systems in Canada.

The GTEN Committee's specific functions relate to the organization of a biennial technical symposium for the presentation of technical papers and discussion panels covering all aspects of gas turbine operation including power generation, pipelines, energy for buildings, industrial processes, and marine applications. This symposium also provides a forum for reviewing directives, guidelines, codes and practices, as issued by Regulatory Agencies, which impact directly on the application of gas turbines.
We hope you can join us in Banff for our 2019 Symposium this October!
