Conference Information for Volunteer Students
FASAVA Congress 2017
Each year The Australian Veterinary Association in conjunction with our University partners offers a small number of selected student volunteers the opportunity to attend and be part of the ASAVA Annual Conference. In 2017 the AVA and ASAVA are delighted to be hosting the Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress in place of the ASAVA Annual Conference.
In 2017, the AVA are seeking volunteer applications to fill 10 student volunteer positions, with preference given to those who speak a second language.
Students that are accepted will benefit by having the opportunity to hear talks from some of the best speakers in the world on cutting edge issues and findings in the industry. Student volunteers will also have the opportunity to network with other AVA members, FASAVA members, students, speakers and graduates while gaining valuable contacts from not only Australia but across the Asia-pacific.
About FASAVA
The Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Associations (FASAVA) came about as the result of a core group of Asia-Pacific veterinarians coming to the realisation that throughout the Asia-pacific region the level of veterinary care animal welfare was falling short of the rising importance of small animal as part of the family throughout the region. It was felt that an international group centred in Asia-Pacific would further satisfy their regional specific needs.
About the Congress
Small animal practice is well established in many Asian countries and growing rapidly in others. On average over 1200 small animal veterinarians have been attracted to FASAVA Congresses due to the continuing high quality scientific program.
In 2017, the FASAVA congress will consist of 8 veterinary streams of 16 topic areas between 11th August – 14th August 2017. It will also host a large industry exhibition and a variety of social and networking events.
