1. The economy takes a turn for the worst and you lose your job. Your first response is:
a) I’ll be fine for a while. My investments will pay me enough income to cover my basic expenses until I find another job.
b) I’ve saved enough emergency cash, so I should be ok. I hope I get a new job soon so that I don’t have to spend too much of it.
c) I never have enough money left over to save for emergencies – life is about living! It might be time to sell my second car.
d) I don’t know if I have enough money saved to last me until I get another job, so I guess I’ll have to hope for the best.
2. Your bank sends you a letter in the mail offering you a new credit card. You:
a) Assess the merits of the card but decide not to go ahead – your existing card offers better rates and rewards.
b) Rip up the letter straight away. You don’t like to use credit cards and think that people who do are asking for trouble.
c) Sign up straight away. It would be handy to have an extra card that you can use for your online shopping purchases.
d) Are reminded to look at your existing credit card balance to see what you already owe. You notice that you’ve missed a payment.
3. Your partner suggests you do a budget together. Your response is:
a) Absolutely! We need to know what we are spending so we can get the most from our money.

5. You get a bonus at work – well done! What do you do with the money?
a) Pay off some of your debt – who wants to be paying away money to the bank unnecessarily.
b) Put it straight into your super fund – it’s the perfect opportunity to boost your retirement savings.
