Fire-Rescue
Canada welcomes submissions for the following types of talks:
Policy forum:
Since Fire-Rescue Canada is in Ottawa,
the CAFC would like to invite partners in government and across the sector to
present initiatives that they would like to discuss with the sector. Please
showcase the great work you do.
How the selection process works
The CAFC
Program Committee will review and score all submissions independently and
select sessions based on relevance, timeliness of content, education, value and
qualifications of the presenter, and number of talks that can be accommodated.
CAFC encourages
submissions geared toward topics such as:
- National and
Federal Policy
- Best practices
for volunteer departments
- Issues for
large and composite departments
- Operations
& Labour Relations
- Safety, Health & Wellness
How to make a submission:
Preparing a
submission is quick and easy. You will need to set up an online account and
then input the following information:
- Select
the proposed track for your presentation per above topics
- Description
of Presentation (120 words or less)
- Presentation
Format (Keynote, General Session, Breakout Session, Panel Session, Lightning
Talk)
- Presentation
Abstract (300 words or less – Provide more details including purpose,
methodology, relevance, importance and implementation and how you conduct the
presentation)
- Enter
3 learning objectives/take-aways for the presentation
- Your
affiliation/field of service
- Indicate
whether or not your presentation will be presented elsewhere in 2018
- Expected
expenses/honorarium
- Is
your talk contingent on the CAFC paying for: accommodations, travel, honorarium or no expectations
- Website
or links to related talked

Submissions
will only be accepted online. Faxed,
emailed or mailed forms will NOT be accepted.
- Submission
of a speaker proposal does not guaranteed participation in Fire-Rescue Canada
2018.
- Products
for sale will NOT be accepted through presentations
- Individuals
must complete the submission process in its entirety. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
- If
selected, all speakers will be required to submit a fully-executed speaker
agreement
- If
selected, information regarding important deadlines and requirements will be
provided and must be adhered to.
- After
the review of submissions, selected speakers will be notified by email in
March.
