The LA Stage Alliance nominated Orlando for an Ovation Award for his performance in August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize winning play FENCES, with Laurence Fishburne, Angela Basset and Wendell Pierce. Currently, Orlando stars in the FOX hit series SLEEPY HOLLOW, which was created Fringe producers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman. You can also catch him in Adult Swim’s new hit series BLACK DYNAMITE. In 2013 he starred in the new Joel Silver action film BAD COUNTRY as well as TAINTED LOVE a graphic novel-style action comedy, which he also wrote and produced. It’s a first-of-its-kind digital series that is the launching pad for a unique narrative journey across multiple platforms including digital, theatrical, broadcast, publishing, gaming, music and more. From his portrayal of Clifford Franklin in the classic football film THE REPLACEMENTS to the hugely successful DRUMLINE to singing and dancing in the Broadway revival of THE WIZ, Orlando Jones’ versatility as an artist is well documented. Since his feature film debut in LIBERTY HEIGHTS directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson, Orlando has continued to create memorable characters while working with some of Hollywood’s most successful directors including Paul Weitz, (CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT), Peter Hyams (BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT), Ivan Reitman (EVOLUTION), Mike Judge (OFFICE SPACE), Gary Fleder, (RUNAWAY JURY) Harold Ramis (BEDAZZLED) and more Jones began his Hollywood career as a teenager working behind the scenes as a writer on NBC’s A DIFFERENT WORLD and Fox’s MARTIN starring Martin Lawrence. He also wrote and produced Fox’s ROC LIVE starring Charles Dutton. He then worked alongside Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron, Survivor’s Jeff Probst and The Amazing Race’s Phil Koegan to launch FX network into 18 million homes. Orlando later combined his writing and acting talents when he was handpicked by Quincy Jones to join Fox’s fourteen year long sketch comedy franchise MADtv.
