Title Managing Director, Public Affairs Officer Company Citi Japan Bio Guy Matthews serves as Public Affairs Officer for Citi in Japan, a position he has held since 2010. He is responsible for all Corporate Affairs activities of Citi in Japan, including media relations, corporate communications and citizenship. He also serves as an executive officer at Citigroup Japan Holdings Corp, Citi’s principal holding company in Japan. Prior to this he was Head of Corporate Communications for Citigroup Japan Holdings Corp, from 2005. Mr Matthews joined Citigroup in 2002, working for Nikko Salomon Smith Barney (currently Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc) as a senior project manager before becoming Head of Client Interaction for Citi Technology Infrastructure Japan. Prior to joining Citigroup, he was Head of Marketing for Instinet Japan, with additional responsibilities for that company’s marketing activities in the Asia Pacific region. Mr Matthews started his career with Arthur Andersen, working as a senior consultant in their offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Melbourne, Australia. He is active in the community and served for two years as Co-Chairman of the FIT (Financial Industry in Tokyo) For Charity Run organising committee, helping to raise $1.5 million for local charities. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.
