Brian Sirgutz is the Senior Vice President of Social Impact at The Huffington Post Media Group/AOL, where he leads all aspects of the company’s impact editorial content and engagement strategy. Brian founded the Impact, Education, Good News verticals which reach over 20 million people on a monthly basis. Brian developed the ‘How You Can Help’ Impact component for the Pulitzer Prize winning series ‘Beyond The Battlefield’. Brian also leads all development of social impact-related business and product development innovations on the Huffington Post’s platform. Seeing a demand for companies to align their brand values with relevant editorial content, Brian invented what is now knows as the social impact publishing model. Partners include, but are not limited to Johnson and Johnson, CISCO, Goldman Sachs, State Farm, Bank of America, Chipotle, NRG Energy, Citibank, Chevy, Paramount Pictures, etc. Brian also created a unique partnership with TED called TEDWeekends; a weekend program that surfaced a TED talk and engaged the Huffington Post contributor community to engage that talk in new ways As a driver of innovation in the philanthropic content space, Brian continually lectures at tech and media conferences about “content as a means for social change”. Brian has spoken on the main stage at events such as the UN Mashable’s Social Good Summit and SXSW presenting a keynote with Biz Stone, the co-founder of Twitter. Brian also teaches the occasional class on CSR around “doing well while doing good” at New York University and USC’s Marshall School of Business.
