Bio
Seema specializes in the development of strategic, win-win partnerships between the corporate and nonprofit sectors with a focus on CSR, cause marketing, and integrated communications that drive consumer engagement and loyalty. Seema consults on CSR program development, social innovation storytelling, social media and employee engagement for global Fortune 500 companies and leading organization such as Safeway, Amgen, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, PATH, UN Foundation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to Waggener Edstrom, Seema was Director of Strategic Philanthropy at L’Oréal Paris and managed the brand’s citizenship programs supporting women’s health and empowerment causes. Seema helped raised over $8 million for L’Oreal’s nonprofit partners through cause marketing, red-carpet events, celebrity PSAs and employee engagement initiatives. In 2009, Seema and her team received the Cause Marketing Forum Silver Halo Award for Best Message Campaign for L’Oréal’s program supporting ovarian cancer research. Prior to L’Oréal, Seema worked in India on USAID projects in maternal health and HIV/AIDS prevention and delivered healthcare services to slum communities in New Delhi. Prior to India, Seema worked in strategy and best practices consulting for The Corporate Executive Board in Washington DC. Seema has been a guest speaker on CSR and cause marketing at NYU Stern, Social Innovation Summit, Net Impact, The Cause Marketing Forum and The American Marketing Association. Her philanthropic efforts are featured in the bestselling book, Giving 2.0, written by Laura Arrillaga-Andreesen.Seema graduated with a B.A. in International Economics and Spanish from the George Washington University.
