James D. White is Chairman, President and CEO of Jamba Juice, a leading healthy, active lifestyle brand offering better-for-you, specialty beverage and food offerings. He is a visionary leader with extensive experience in brand building, innovation and driving transformative growth. Mr. White’s background includes his having served in senior level positions with global brands including Coca-Cola, Ralston Purina, Gillette and Safeway Stores. He has a proven record of driving results through growth acceleration, brand development and transformative marketing initiatives. After joining Jamba in December 2008 James successfully led the company’s turnaround and has set the stage for Jamba’s future growth. The turnaround was achieved through execution of a 3-year, disciplined strategic plan, dubbed the BLEND Plan, which included transitioning company stores to franchise-owned, developing disciplined cost controls, and building a leadership team of seasoned professionals to drive functional excellence across the enterprise. Jamba is now a profitable business with $500 million in system-wide sales and over 800 locations in the U.S. and internationally. The company has launched a series of innovative product solutions under White’s tenure, including a full line of CPG products, smoothie stations and JambaGO™ smoothie machines that now make Jamba products available in places such as K-12 schools, college campuses, airports, entertainment venues and convenience stores. In 2014 White announced an accelerated expansion of its freshly squeezed juice platform, capitalizing on the coastal juicing and whole food blending trend and reaffirming Jamba’s position as the leader of and largest retailer of made-to-order, fresh juice. To support the juice, Jamba launch incorporated a revamping of its supply chain model, a system-wide store refresh, a robust, integrated marketing campaign and enhanced team member training. White also created a number of unique initiatives transforming Jamba into a truly relevant lifestyle brand, addressing the growing consumer need for better-for-you food and beverage offerings. Jamba’s Healthy Living Council helps educate and guide consumers seeking more functional nutritional information. The Team Up For a Healthy America campaign engages national entities such as the National Gardening Association, GENYOUth Foundation, Venus Williams, Vernon Davis and other well-known athletes to join in the fight to improve childhood health and wellness. Jamba has made significant reach into schools through school lunch programs, fundraising and the JambaGO™ units now serving school children across America. These and other key initiatives reflect Mr. White’s commitment to ensuring that Jamba maintains a leadership position as a purposeful company, while delivering strong profits and shareholder value. His personal values and desire to improve the lives of others guide many of Jamba’s consumer marketing and lifestyle initiatives. He has won numerous awards including San Francisco’s Most Admired CEO Award and Junior Achievement’s Northern California Lifetime Award.
