Stephanie von Friedeburg is the World Bank Group CIO and VP for Information and Technology Solutions. Prior to taking on the CIO role for the World Bank Group on April 2, 2012, Stephanie was the CIO of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Stephanie has served as a manager for IFC’s general manufacturing investments in the former Soviet Union as well as IFC’s global telecom portfolio. She was brought into IT from the business to increase engagement and focus on business outcomes. Stephanie has been with the World Bank Group since 1992. In addition to an MBA from the Wharton School, she holds a Masters of Arts from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Stephanie was employed by Equitable Bank, where she worked in a leverage buy-out group in New York.
