Title Chief Technology Officer Company Pearson Bio Doug Schmidt is the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Enterprise Architect for global publisher and education leader Pearson plc. (NYSE: PSO). In his role as CTO, Doug is responsible for building and managing the major platforms that underpin all of Pearson’s digital and print products worldwide including Content, Data and Analytics, Search, eCommerce, Personalized Learning, Identity, ERP, CRM, and HRIS. Doug has simultaneously served as Pearson’s CISO for over two years, and in that time developed a global Security program aimed securing its cloud and network infrastructure, SaaS, PaaS, and application development processes. Doug previously held senior technology leadership roles at CBS Interactive and CNET Networks and created digital products such as Last.fm, Gamespot.com, and Metacritic.com. He has a background in software engineering and product management, and also serves as Board Member and Advisor to a number of Internet startups in New York and Silicon Valley. Doug holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Siena College and lives in Huntington, NY with his wife and two young children.
