Bio
Globally, I work with Fortinet, the security industry and Computer Emergency Response (CERT) to connect the dots, provide mitigation advice and threat forecasts based on correlated threat data and personal knowledge. You can see this as threat intelligence work. Ultimately, this strategy can be integrated into new, advanced technology and alert frameworks to fight cyber attacks. This helps protect end users from consumer, to SMB, Enterprise and Federal from advanced threats. At Fortinet, I manage professional security services for SOC (Security Operation Centers) and MSS. I also present research, threat trends and strategy world-wide at security conferences, strategic summits that include leading political figures, as well as customer / partner events. I bring knowledge to the table to help assist our internal teams (Sales, Marketing, PR) as an in-depth resource for our FortiGuard service department. Spokesperson, Evangelist, Researcher and Strategist are shoes I've filled here at Fortinet - indeed never having a boring day at the office! My content is developed in various forms including blog posts, top tier publications (bylines / interviews), podcasts and video feeds. My preference is to present this content, and discuss on panels with major players in the security space. The goal is to continue to be a thought leader in our industry. In my previous role here, I founded our Responsible Disclosure process which is now routinely used by our research team to report software vulnerabilities to third parties. This process has since seen over 150 zero-day vulnerabilities reported - a large chunk of those now patched by vendors. While it is satisfactory knowing my efforts make cyberspace a safer place one bit a time, I believe there is much collaborative work to be done.
