Max Kahn is an Investment Principal in the Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, LLC. He is responsible for sourcing, executing and managing venture investments in emerging companies delivering breakthrough solutions in the healthcare services and information technology markets, adjacent to Merck's traditional pharmaceutical and vaccines businesses. Max brings nearly twenty years of experience in health care and insurance business development, strategy creation, and small company investing. He was a director in the Health Care Strategy & Alliances group at Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for evaluating the future health care environment to develop strategies for how the J&J pharmaceutical and medical device groups could leverage new business models to capture opportunities in the changing health care landscape. At AXA Equitable, Max helped to revamp AXA's variable annuities strategy coming out of the financial crisis and to manage the launches of two new businesses. Max worked as a consultant in the health care and insurance practices at McKinsey & Co. and invested in emerging growth health care services and health care information technology companies as an investment banker at the boutique firm of Commonwealth Associates. Max holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
