Bio
The colorful and witty collage portraits of Israeli artist Hanoch Piven have appeared in most major American magazines and newspapers such as Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone and in many European publications from The London Times to the Swiss Die WeltWoche. In Israel Piven has gained great visibility due to his long time collaboration with the daily Haaretz, and through his books and educational TV shows for children. Piven’s art invites us to look at our world in a playful new way and engages the viewer in active participation. Throughout the last 10 years Piven has been touring internationally lecturing and conducting workshops based on the principles of his own technique, encouraging creativity, communication and introspection in organizations. The participants in Piven’s international workshops form a very diverse group spanning from art students in Beijing to school teachers in Omaha. A partial list of companies and organizations that Piven has worked with in Israel includes The Ministry of Education, IDF’s School of Leadership, Bank Hapoalim, Mizrachi Tfachot, Phyzer, Schering Plough, Orange, Yossi Vardi’s Kinnernet Camp, Google, The office of the Attorney General and many schools and kindergartens throughout Israel.
