Geert van de Wouw is managing director of Shell Technology Ventures, which invests in early-stage technology companies that have a strategic fit with Shell's energy operations as well as spin-outs from Shell. STV is the largest corporate venture investor among oil and gas majors. Prior to that, van de Wouw led Shell's euro zone turmoil response team, addressing supply-chain risks tied to economic instability. In 2011, he helped set up the Well Manufacturing Joint Venture between Shell and CNPC of China. Between 2007 and 2011, van de Wouw led Shell's large-supplier management organization. Van de Wouw's first job with Shell was leading business development of the Shell Global Solutions consultancy in Europe and Africa. Prior to Shell, he was Fluor Corp.'s director for business development in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. He earned an M.Sc. degree in molecular sciences from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands and had postgraduate business training at the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.
