Bio
Zeev Holtzman Founded GizaVC in 1992, following 20 years in the private equity and investment banking sectors. Zeev was Giza's Chairman and Managing Partner until 2008 and since then has been Chairman of Giza Management and the Investment Committees of Giza's venture funds. Currently, Zeev focuses on strategy, networking, deal sourcing, and the firm's activities in Asia and Poland and acts as Chairman of the GPV-Poland Investment Committee. Zeev has led GizaVC's successful investments in M-Systems, Precise Software, Libit, Zoran and DSPC. He is also founder and Chairman of IVC Research Center, Israel's leading research and data base firm covering the Israeli hi tech, technology, venture capital and private equity industries; a co-founder of the Israel Venture Capital Association, known today as HTIA; Chairman of the Technion's [the Israeli MIT] Endowment Fund; co-founder, board member and supporter of Tmura, the venture capital industry's main philanthropic organization; and a trustee of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Prior to founding GizaVC, Zeev headed Giza Economic Advising Ltd. where he advised leading investors and technology and investment companies such as Scitex, Elscint, Koor, Discount Investment Corporation, Poalm Investments, and Bezeq as well as the Ministry of Finance, and served on the boards of major companies and startups. Previously he served as Executive Vice President at Leumi & Co., the investment banking arm of Bank Leumi and worked for Lehman Brothers corporate finance department in New York. Zeev was a captain in the Israel Defense Forces, serving in a special reconnaissance unit, and was the recipient of a citation from the President of Israel for leadership during combat. Zeev holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in economics and Muslim history from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
