Title Senior Investment Officer Company World Bank Bio Ruzgar Barisik is a Senior Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation. He is responsible for venture and growth equity investments in clean technology and climate areas in Europe, Middle East & North Africa. Earlier in his career, Ruzgar was a private equity investment professional with a focus on growth equity and venture transactions. His investments have covered early-stage to publicly traded industrial, technology and media companies. Prior to the IFC, Ruzgar was a Partner at GTI Group, a New York based private investment firm. At GTI, he was responsible for the firm's first growth equity and buyout transactions. Ruzgar led various investments and realizations in the US and India, and represented the firm on the boards of GTI's portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, Ruzgar was Director of Corporate Development at KCI, a diversified holding company. At KCI, he led acquisition and divestiture transactions, and managed global outsourcing and manufacturing projects. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Treasurer and Financial Analyst. Ruzgar graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Mathematics and Economics and holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School.
