Shane Walker leads Consumer Medical Devices & Digital Health research at InMedica, the Medical Electronics division of IMS Research (recently acquired by IHS). Shane joined IMS Research in 2007 as an analyst in the company’s Consumer Electronics group, which he subsequently managed before moving into InMedica. Shane’s current medical research areas of coverage include telehealth and activity monitoring.

During the past five years Shane diversified the scope of coverage provided by the Consumer Electronics group, expanding into areas such as next generation user interfaces, encoding, Internet video, secure media delivery and digital signage. He has authored several syndicated reports, provided strategic market analysis for end equipment manufacturers, and has served as a recurring judge and moderator for the IPTV World Forum events as well the CSI Product of the Year Awards and the TV 3.0 conference. He has also served as a guest speaker for Intel’s Leadership Day Conference, the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s Annual International IPTV Conference, the TV 3.0 Conferences and the Embedded Vision Alliance.
