Nannette Ripmeester is Director of Expertise in Labour Mobility. She started her international career at the European Commission in Brussels, working for nearly seven years on labour mobility within Europe, after obtaining an MA in European Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Nannette has a focus on customising solutions for international labour mobility, working with large corporate clients and higher education institutions across the globe. With her double-sided knowledge on what makes people internationally employable, she regularly advises – from Canada to Australia – how to further increase the connection between recent graduates and their future job opportunities. In this capacity she has been appointed Industry Innovator in Residence for Study Queensland to enhance the employability of international students. Next to her role for ELM, Nannette heads the European Office for i-graduate –responsible for the International Student Barometer (ISB) in continental Europe and Canada. She is a board member of Codarts, the Dutch University of Arts that trains dancers, musicians and circus performers. Nannette presents and writes regularly on global employability trends, having contributed to a series of career guides covering over 30 countries. Most proud though is she on founding the educational gaming app CareerProfessor.works, which bridges education to the world of work for students keen to enhance their employability skills for a global world. Together with her team Nannette works under the motto of Making Mobility Work and with over 25 years of advising employers, universities and governments on graduate mobility, Nannette is a leading expert on mobility for study and work. She is a Study Queensland 2019 Industry Innovator in Residence.
