Title Company Bio Maudilia López Cardona is an indigenous Mayan Mam woman, Catholic nun, and international speaker from San Miguel Ixtahuacán, who works with her parish to support community members who are engaged in a struggle with Canadian gold mining company, Goldcorp, over concerns about human rights and the Marlin Mine. In 2009, Sister Maudilia travelled to Ottawa on behalf of 18 communities to present an official complaint about Goldcorp`s Marlin Mine to the Canadian Government. She is a tireless defender of human rights and Mother Earth, which she says cannot be separated.
