Matt Sylvia joined Bank of America in June 2002 and is currently responsible for the REO Production team within Legacy Asset Servicing, totaling more than 535 employees in three operational sites located in Arizona, Texas, and California.

Sylvia is responsible for the production of the REO team from acquisition of the REO property through disposition. Within his team there are three key groups of the REO process. First is the Pre-Marketing team responsible for the property from acquisition through the eviction, property preservation and valuation stages. Next is the Sales and Marketing team, charged with determining the right marketing strategy for each property and monitoring the pricing and strategy of the property through offer negotiations. Last is the Title and Closing group, which works to clear the property of any liens or title defects and also oversees the close of escrow to move the REO property to final disposition. Collectively, the REO team helps the Legacy Asset Servicing group effectively manage overall credit risk.

Prior to accepting his current role within the REO group, Sylvia held various leadership positions within the Retail, Wholesale and Reverse Mortgage channels at Bank of America. He began his 15-year mortgage career with Republic Mortgage Insurance Company as an Account Manager serving financial institutions.    

Sylvia is a graduate of Radford University with a bachelor of science degree.
