Bio
Ieuan joined the Executive Team of Staffordshire University in January 2017 as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Region. This new executive role is focused on developing us as the Connected University with strong regional, national and international partnerships connecting communities, enabling innovation and applied learning, and supporting the development of talented people.

After an initial clinical career as a chartered physiotherapist, Ieuan has pursued an academic career across 30 years holding a number of senior academic leadership roles at both Northumbria and Leeds Beckett universities. Prior to joining Staffordshire University, Ieuan
held roles as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean for Health and Social Sciences at Leeds Beckett University and provided senior leadership for the Leeds Academic Health Partnership – a city-regional collaboration between 3 universities, 6 NHS organisations and Leeds City
Council.

As Professor in Healthcare Education, Ieuan has expertise in policy developments in healthcare and Higher Education, including employer engagement, work-related learning and continuing professional development. With extensive experience of leadership at national level at the interface of policy and practice for health and Higher Education, Ieuan is a current member of the UK Higher Education Funding Councils’ Health Education Advisory Committee (HEAC) and Non-Executive Advisor on Education and Research to Connect Health.

Ieuan is the former Chair of the UK Council of Deans of Health (2011–2014), a role in which  he gave oral evidence in the House of Commons as an expert witness to the Health Select Committee on Healthcare Education and Training. Ieuan is also former chair of the Allied Health Professional National Advisory Board to the Department of Health (2010-2013), advising on national workforce planning and development. He has also been a NonExecutive Director of an NHS Community Healthcare Trust.
