Title Civil engineering honours candidate Company University of Southern Queensland Bio Aidan Train is studying a bachelor of Engineering Honours, Majoring in Civil at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). He is a descendant of the Wailwan people in Central West New South Wales. Prior to studying at USQ, Aidan was awarded the QCAA award for the Highest Academic Achievement by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander after achieving an OP 1. His educational background is in regional schools and he finished Year 12 at Spinifex State College in Mount Isa. His life experiences in regional education led him to choose USQ rather than the University of Sydney where he was also offered a place to study engineering. He says it is a pleasure to sit on the Student Panel for the Regional Universities Conference and he looks forward to sharing his story and hearing the insights of fellow students.
