Shannon Mains was a busy night nurse in the NICU working 80-100 hours a week when she first heard about R+F from her sister. Her sister had seen a posting on Facebook by another registered nurse and thought it was an opportunity that Shannon could pursue while still working the night shift.

Four years later, Shannon’s life has “changed in more ways than I could have ever imagined.” Now working approximately 30 hours each week on her R+F business, she has since retired from her nursing career and her husband was able to pursue his dream job, which took them to Canada. Personally, she says she isn’t as shy or scared as she used to be. “I could choose to watch from the sidelines or jump on in…I’m so glad I jumped!”

Shannon is excited about her future and plans to help develop more leaders on her team. She also wants to start giving back to NICU families after years seeing the struggles they endure. Now that she has more control over her life, she’s also ready to start a family, noting that her husband “will be able to be there for every moment!”
