Gina Spallina was a publicist in New York City for 10 years before leaving her career to raise her two young children, Rocco and Luca. Giving up her job was a hard decision to make, recalls Gina, and after three years, she confesses, “I really needed something for me.”

A former intern who had worked for Gina had started her own R+F business, and a Facebook post prompted Gina’s interest in September 2012. “It was perfect timing,” Gina recalls. “I felt like I wouldn’t have to leave my kids, but I could build a lucrative global business.” Gina signed up to become an Independent Consultant just a week later.

Working 10-15 hours each week, Gina shares that her Rodan + Fields business has changed her life in ways she couldn’t imagine. “We have choices,” Gina says, “We have as much time with our kids as we’d like and the opportunity to do the things we really love.” She’d like to be able to contribute to her family’s finances in effort to allow her husband, a teacher, to focus on a passion project – his lacrosse business.

Gina notes one of her greatest successes as earning her white Lexus just two weeks after her third child, Capri, was born. “Taking a bit of time off and knowing my team and business was still thriving… it was incredibly emotional.” Gina says the most unexpected part of the business is not just what it has done for her family, but watching others use it to have more choices, too.

Her goals now that she’s an RFX Circle Achiever? “To continue growing at a consistent pace. To empower and mentor as many people as I can so they can see it is never too late to make a change, start a new chapter, or dream bigger!"
