Gerlienke Schuur has a MSc degree in Molecular Sciences and a PhD degree in Toxicology. She works as a risk assessor at the Centre for Safety of Substances and Products at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) since 2001. Her expertise in risk assessment focuses on consumer exposure assessment. She is involved in the project of the consumer exposure tool ConsExpo. The work field of risk assessments as well as health impact assessments contains substances in several legal frameworks, such as REACH, Cosmetics Directive, and involves toys, tattoos, textiles and other consumer products. She was also involved in several prioritization projects in relation to substances in REACH or in relation to product safety.
