Title Professor Company University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences Bio Don Sens is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of South Carolina studying the gene regulation of the arginine operon in Escherichia coli. This research transitioned into the study of the role of heavy metals in cancer and renal disease which continues to the present. His continuing efforts to promote undergraduate research as part of the IDeA program has resulted in over 1,000 undergraduate researchers completing a 10 week research intensive summer program or one or more semesters of research at primarily undergraduate institutions and tribal colleges.
