Kate Hester recognized the Doctors names when she was first contacted about R+F and immediately “saw the potential for time and financial freedom.” At the time, she was an analyst for a non-profit organization that evaluates the quality of care in nursing homes. “In other words, I was not very fun to talk to at dinner parties…”

Since joining as a Consultant in 2010, Kate has been awed by the support system within the R+F community. “The friendships I have developed over the years has had a huge impact on my life.” She is also appreciative of the financial changes too, especially when she was suddenly let go from a job she’d had for 15 years. “Thankfully I had grown my R+F business to a point where the loss of that income didn’t terribly affect us,” says Kate, who works her business 25 hours each week. Kate was able to secure her “Plan B” before the Plan B was actually necessary.

Most importantly to Kate, was the ability to use her R+F paycheck to start a foundation focused on the prevention of elder abuse. She began the Elder Justice Foundation in 2015 and within the first year was able to fund five projects. She looks forward to furthering the reach of the foundation and also to showing her kids “what it means to help other people achieve success through hard work and dedication.”
