A former Active Duty Air Force Officer turned small business owner, Jen Griswold realized after running her own business that she “could never go back to a 9 to 5 job.” She was told about R+F by a good friend and eventually signed on in 2010 in part because it was a “very portable business option” that she could share with other military spouses.

Jen loves that “serving your community, paying it forward and giving back are ideals that are alive and well in the business community today.” She works 40 hours a week and commits to bringing service into her team culture. “I knew I wasn’t in this business for the money when I started.” Jen’s real motivation was to “show other capable military women that they had what it took to be successful entrepreneurs” and to show that with hard work, her team could have extra to give back to the passions that drive them.

Her future goals include bringing awareness to the underemployment problem among military spouses. “We have a huge platform to show that military life breeds amazing entrepreneurs.” Jen believes that a good leader raises the bar “in terms of ethics, collaboration and class” and urges her team to never stop believing in their vision.
