Title Research scientist Company University Health Network’s innovation centre, OpenLab Bio Dr. Lora Appel, received her PhD in Health Informatics from Rutgers University, New Jersey. She is a research scientist at the University Health Network’s innovation centre, OpenLab, and holds a post-doctoral fellowship at York University in the Faculty of Health. Lora currently leads "Prescribing Virtual Reality (VRx)" a collection of studies that introduce and evaluate AR/VR/MR interventions for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. She is also involved in the design of a new curriculum incorporating VR for the School of Nursing at York University. Lora has expertise in applying design thinking & science methodology to healthcare innovation.
