Title Chief Executive Officer Company Shinola Bio There are many ways to describe Tom Lewand: Shinola CEO; former vice president, chief operating officer, and president of the Detroit Lions; but perhaps one of our favorite ways to describe Lewand is as a Michigan Ross alum. Lewand, MBA ‘96, has seen his career take interesting turns, from high-level professional sports management to overseeing a luxury goods company that has the revitalization of Detroit as one of its main missions. “Shinola is an exciting brand to watch,” said Abbie Flis, BBA ‘17, vice president of Phi Chi Theta, the co-ed business and economic fraternity that helped arrange Lewand’s visit. “We’re excited to hear Tom talk about his plans for Shinola’s growth and his commitment to Detroit.” The event is open to the general public. Lewand, who is also a member of the Ross School Corporate Advisory Board, will be speaking in Rackham Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 18 at 4:00pm. Doors open at 3:30. The first 300 to attend will get a free monogrammed Shinola journal. Phi Chi Theta partnered with the Michigan Sport Business Conference, the Sport Business Association, and SHEI Magazine to arrange Lewand’s visit.
