Surina Puri is a senior at Georgia Institute of Technology where she is majoring in computer science. Her research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning and their applications in the optimization in various fields, especially healthcare. She is involved in operational research in medicine and healthcare at Georgia Tech. During summer 2017, Surina participated in CRA-W’s Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (DREU) program. As part of this program, she participated in the CSE REU at Washington University in St. Louis, where she worked on algorithms to predict users’ interactions as they interact with a visual interface. She aspires to pursue a career in research that lies at the frontiers of artificial intelligence, health informatics, and data science. Apart from research, Surina also enjoys playing piano and basketball. She is an active member of Girls Who Code, where she teaches programming to middle and high school girls.
