Arizona State University

My name is Karla Paraiso and I am a second-year student at Arizona State University currently working for a B.S. in Computer Science concentrated in Software Engineering. I graduated from a small high school in the city of Glendale and had a strong focus in graphics and arts until I got introduced to Computer Science my first year at university. That’s where I was able to discover my passion for programming and building software. Recently, I just completed a summer research program in the University of Minnesota where I created a series of virtual simulations with an animated avatar. I was able to discover how gaming technology and simulated physics can be applied to VR research as well as psychological studies. My current interests include improving software, computer graphics as well as virtual reality. I am excited to improve and learn more about the applications of programming and apply my skills to the real world where I hope to help improve technology in third-world countries.
