Yael Kaufman is a software developer and consultant at ThoughtWorks, a pioneering global technology company. Prior to joining ThoughtWorks, Yael worked as a computer science teacher and a recruiting and hiring consultant for Girls Who Code, a nonprofit aiming to close the gender gap in computer science. Yael has focused much of her work on making the confluence of tech and queerness a safer and more comfortable space, whether in higher education, nonprofit, or industry. As an undergraduate, Yael founded a campus organization for queer and trans students in technology, engineering, and math. Since graduating, she has presented at multiple national conferences, including the Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing and the National LGBTQ Task Force Creating Change Conference.
