Mariam is a DPhil student at the Cyber Security CDT, University of Oxford. Her research is focused on developing methods to measure and detect various forms of bad behaviour in online platforms. Her most recent work focuses on detecting online radicalization behaviour using multi-modal approach, including social network analysis, natural language processing and machine learning. Mariam is also a member of a number of local and global communities of cyber security advocates such as Women in Cyber Security and Hemaya - a local Saudi group advocating for Information security. She is also involved with several initiatives promoting and supporting women in leadership positions and technology. This include McKinsey Next Generation Women Leaders group, and the Oxford Women in Computer Science Society (OxWoCS) where she has been an active committee member for the last two years.
